| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - good value in a pocket diaper I previously used the all-in-one size BumGenius 3.0 and Swaddlebees pocket diapers. The Swaddlebees seemed to be a little too much like a bikini diaper, and I wanted something more substantial in fitting, and the BumGenius seemed to fit the bill. However, at 23 lbs and growing, my son could not longer fit into the "all in one" BumGenius, and I was again in the market for another pocket diaper, so I thought I'd try the Happy Heiny's.
Cons: I was disappointed that the included diaper insert wasn't a little thicker. However, I haven't had any leaks yet in using the diapers for a week. If need be, it would be easy enough to double up on inserts or use the super-thick ones I still have from the BumGenius diapers. Inserts or doublers are easy enough to buy.
$20 for a pocket diaper? My mom would scoff at paying so much, but anyone who has used cloth diapers knows that in the long run, these are cheaper than constantly buying disposables (and so much better for baby, and the environment).
Pros: The design of the diaper is nice, and not excessively bulky. It is like a combination of the best qualities of both the BumGenius and the Swaddlebees. The interior is soft, the velcro tabs are large and secure the diaper well (much better than the BumGenius' velcro), and the laundry tabs work well at keeping the velcro from getting unnecessarily beaten up in the wash. This diaper seems like it would be harder for my 8 month son to pull off, like he has done with the BumGenius and other diapers.
I will have to see how these hold up over time with repeated washings, but thus far I am quite pleased with the Happy Heiny's. + See Full Customer Review | |
