For parents who often take to the skies with a baby in their lap, this light, stowable item may offer extra peace of mind when worn during a flight. The soft cotton vest can be worn throughout a trip--many toddlers will think the bright red fabric and buckles a cool addition to their wardrobe. Three plastic buckles snap at sides and crotch, and the adult's seat belt passes through a nylon loop to secure child to parent. This harness would be a must-have accessory for the frequent-flying baby--if it were FAA approved for use during takeoff and landing. Currently it is not, a fact we felt the manufacturers should make much clearer than they do. During takeoff and landing, then, this simple vest/harness cannot (alas) replace the uncomfortable baby lap belts provided by the airlines, although it meets all FAA regulations for use during flight. --Richard Farr

We bought this for our trip to Jordan and I found it usfull in more ways than just the intended use. First before I bought it I made sure that it would be allowed by the airlines to use, which AA and Royal Jordanian both accepted. Second we used it not just during flight for our 11 month old, but in the airports it was like a small leash in a way, she could run around and we could keep a hold of her. Third in Jordan we did not have a car seat...THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED, AND NOT SUPPORTED TO DO SO BY THE PRODUCT....but I used it to strap onto my seat belt, I know call me a bad mom, but it was better than nothing. Our families car was not big enough to hold a car seat given the amount of people that were CONSTANTLY crammed in it and we could not afford to rent a car for the whole duration of our stay, so worse comes to worse...BUT I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS IF A CAR SEAT CAN BE USED. Anyways, I am happy with the product. I did not like how she could not sleep comfortably with it on, that was the only down fall...she seemed to fight it the whole night flight.
