Easy and no advertising Emails etc.Quick and simple. As for the hard drive it makes a great back up, been using it for about a month with no problems. Just plug and play. Transfers are quick enough, havent transferred any huge files but picture and short videos, my son put a game on it and it played perfectly, it went on my old desktop with XP so it was nice to have the extra storage since that is where I keep my photos. Didn't use any of the preloaded files so cant say how good they are, but who can complain for a free hard drive? Just hopes it lasts with all the negative reviews but what product on here doesn't get those? Update later to let you know if it keeps running. + See Full Customer Review
